Psalm 92:1-5
It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.
For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done. How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts!
It is good for us to praise God. It changes us for the better. I saw this recently while writing out a prayer when I was emotionally out of sorts. After a couple of pages I noticed that I was talking mostly about myself: confessing what I had done wrong, talking about what I was going through, how I felt, and what I wanted God to do to help me. It wasn't helping much. So I decided that I was going to start talking about God instead. I started talking about God's amazing qualities: his righteousness, his might, his grace and mercy. After finishing out the prayer I felt at peace and stronger. God is so amazing that merely focusing on his awesome characteristics changes our moods and uplifts us. It can fill us with joy, peace, comfort, and security. So I wanted to take some time to share some scriptures about the God we serve to inspire your praise of him.

Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness. Mount Zion rejoices, the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments
